Shooting for the moon - Seems easy enough?

Shoot for the moon.
Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
~ Les Brown ~

When we were growing up, our parents told us we could be anything we wanted to be. Throughout those many years our idea of our "dream job" changed from day to day. I know at one point I wanted to be a beautiful ballerina and the next day at the bus stop, I would look at my mom and tell her "I want to be a fire fighter". Her reply would always be, "You can be anything you want to be".

For years, many of us struggle to find that perfect being that we want to be "when we grow up". If you're like me, you're still trying to figure it out.

I've been to school for Music, Marketing, Business. I've held jobs in retail, banking, radio, promotions, etc and still have not found a place for my heart to reside. I have a love for photography, but I'm still not sure that is what I'm meant to do. Do I go out of my comfort zone and audition for something musical? I've made myself think for so long that I don't have the performance skills to stand out among all the other great vocalists in the world. I love animals but "growing up on a farm" doesn't make me ultra qualified to work with them.

Why do I sit back in nerves when I could at least give it a try?  When will I find a job that makes my heart leap out of my chest every morning when I wake up?

Maybe it's time for me to shoot for the moon, finally.
